Oh my goodness it's been a long time! I guess I was going through a little bit of a funk there with all the goodies that have been going on in my life, but I'm finally getting back into my various arts and it's time to start sharing it with the world at large again!
Firstly, I painted a picture for a friend of mine to say thank you for the generosity that she's shown me. She and her hubby came to visit Cape Town via ship all the way from Canada, and so I figured that she might like a little something to remind her of the trip. A painting of our famous Table Mountain immediately came to mind!

It was a little bit challenging painting something that's an actual reality in life instead of just coming up with something off the top of my head. There was much measuring and adjusting to make sure that the proportions were right, but I quite like the end result, and I really hope that she likes it too!
Also, the spinning wheel has been put to work again. Remember those alpaca/silk singles that I finished back in February? Well, the plying has begun!!

It was a bit tough in the beginning to negotiate the 3 ply since I've only worked with 2 before, but after a while I eventually got my hands and their order figured out, lol. And now, it's looking like this...

It doesn't look exactly like I imagined it, but I'm hoping that when I'm finished with it and have given it a wash, and all those things, then it will fluff out a bit. Here's hoping that works!!
